Description: Our brains process visual data in separate, distal locations, the parietal lobe, and the temporal lobe. Once a stimulus enters the eye, it is separated into two processes known as the ‘what’ or ‘where’ systems that travel to different processing areas in the brain.

The diagram shows the process of how the visual stimuli travels through the brain, separating into the what and where systems; the what system dealing with color and object recognition and the where system focusing on movement.
